Nokia has predicted that 140 million camera phones will be sold in 2004.
This explosive growth combined with advances in the technology will
fuel the creation of many new and interesting applications.
Camera
phones currently sold in the United States have poor resolution and picture quality.
However, this is about the change with the introduction of 1 megapixel and above camera phones in
late 2004 (Japan and South Korea have already introduced 2 megapixel camera phones).
The quality of pictures taken with camera phones will soon catch up with
those taken from digital cameras.
Because a camera phone is both a communication device and
a camera there will be an explosion of images taken and transmitted over the airwaves and internet.
Photos
will be transmitted via MMS, Email, FTP and HTTP.
We've compiled an up to date directory of camera phones that are available throughout the entire
world.
Let us know if we've missed a phone that should be included in our directory.
SnapNPost.com was created to provide a place where camera phone pictures could be sent
and stored in an online photo gallery.
