Also in the feature mix is a 12-bit color display, support for polyphonic ringtones and tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz support for world use. Through special software named Cubasis Steinberg, owners of the M55 can mix their own melodies for then to send these as musical greetings to friends. These melodies can also be stored in the music archive of the phone, and be used as ringtones for personalization purposes.
Like the S55 and SL55, the M55 also has a digital camera accessory with built-in flash, letting users snap pictures in poorly lit conditions. A photo album lets users store pictures, and send these to acquaintances as well as use them in conjunction with the calling images feature that assigns pictures to incoming callers. The backlit, X-shaped keypad of the M55 lights up when the user has an incoming call, and it is also possible to assign different colors to different callers. Also bundled with the M55 is a series of games, spanning from mountain climbing to skateboarding and cross country biking.
